A poignant antique mourning brooch dating to the early years of the 19th century and in the Rococo style which was having a revival at the time. In 18ct yellow Gold with scrolled naturalesque edging bordering an enamelled frame scripted with 'IN MEMORY OF' in a Gothic font around the central glassed box which is rimmed with miniature natural Seed Pearls. All is of the most meaningful and symbolic beauty and would have once been closely treasured.  

It measures 2cm across and closes with a pin and 'C' clasp.
